Snowshoe – The Perfect Spot for Camp Wildcat!
Situated in the heart of Snowshoe WV, Camp Wildcat is a children’s day camp program that runs every Thursday to Sunday until August 20. Children can either sign up to take part in a single-day program or a three-day package. The day camp is open to all children age 4 to 15, and when you sign up one child, any siblings that take part will receive special discounted rates. Even better, Camp Wildcat is entirely free for any children of current Snowshoe Lodging guests. Camp Wildcat gives children the opportunity to explore, play and experience the fantastic mountain environment first-hand. The experienced camp guides accompany the children throughout the day to ensure a safe and entertaining environment with a focus learning, creativity and adventure. Depending on their age, children will be able to enjoy a wide range of fun and exciting activities, including nature hikes, swimming, canoeing, mountain biking and arts and crafts.
What’s in Store at Camp Wildcat? Camp Wildcat is split up into three separate age groups to ensure children can enjoy spending time with their peers and take part in age-appropriate activities.
Four to Six Year Olds.
The program for the younger kids is all about inspiring them to take an interest in nature and become more self-reliant. The Eurobungy and rock wall climbing activities allow the kids to push themselves in a safe, encouraging environment. A guide will lead the young ones on an educational nature hike that ends at the lake for an afternoon of swimming and lakeside games.
Seven to Eleven Year Olds.
The slightly older children get to take part in more adventure-based activities. Archery and horseback riding are sure to be a hit, and kids can also look forward to the excitement of downhill mountain biking, hiking and swimming in the lake.
Twelve to Fifteen Year Olds.
The schedule for the teenagers offers even more excitement and adventure. In addition to horseback riding, swimming and mountain biking, kids in this group can also take advantage of Segway and RZR tours, sporting clay shooting and stand-up paddleboard clinics amongst many other activities.
Camp Wildcat is the perfect place for children to gain a greater appreciation for nature, make new friends and learn new skills—all while having an absolute blast. Of course, with the kids gone for the day or weekend, all that’s left is to figure out how to spend your time. Luckily, Snowshoe has an almost endless array of opportunities for adults as well—no matter whether you’re looking for relaxation or excitement and adventure.
