Put July 17 through 19, 2015 on your calendar to attend this down-home country celebration in Snowshoe WV on Snowshoe Mountain, one of the highest points of the West Virginia Allegheny Mountains at a 4,848-foot elevation. Pocahontas County will be alive as the first ever Rise & Shine Festival will take place at Snowshoe. You will enjoy great live music, local foods, and a wide array of arts and crafts. And, of course, there will be a wonderful selection of some of the best distilled spirits and craft beers in the area!
FREE Live Concerts:
Josh Thompson is a Show Dog Universal country recording artist who had a Top 10 debut album, “Way Out Here”, featuring the songs “Won’t Be Lonely Long” and the Top 10 first single, “Beer on the Table.” He had openings for such country stars as Dierks Bentley and Brad Paisley.
The Joseph Sisters, a harmonizing trio that has opened for the Oak Ridge Boys, will be among others that will appear at the Festival. They will play at 5:00 p.m. on July 18.
Appalachian Whiskey and Moonshine Tasting:
Added to the local foods and crafts will be samples of the best craft beers and distilled spirits made right in the area. Included will be learning about the history and tradition of whiskey making in Appalachia, their taking part in the Whiskey Rebellion and illegal Prohibition liquor production, and end with the current making of legal whiskeys and moonshines.
