The cookoff is set to start sizzling Friday, July 10 thru Saturday, July 11, 2015. Organized by the International Chili Society, members from all over the world gather to compete for coveted titles, trophies and over $10,000 in cash and other fantastic prizes. With categories including Chili Verde, Red Chili with meat variations, Salsa, and Home-style Chili–this fierce competition is enough to make mouths water and tummies rumble.
If cooking up a chili storm is not your forte, don’t fret, there are plenty of other entertaining things to do for attendees of all ages. Both days from 10 am – 7 pm, lies the perfect opportunity to enjoy the Craft Fair in the Village Plaza, featuring loads of crafts and other unique items. This is an excellent opportunity to shop for some personal treasures, or even get a jump start on the gift giving season. Can anyone say Christmas in July?
Throughout the village, games keep the energy flowing while live music fills the air; competing only with the dizzying smell of delicious food. This year performances by Rasta Rafiki, Fat Daddy Blues Band, and Sunny Ledford are sure to keep toes tapping and spirits on high. The sound of laughter among friends and family, echoing through the village make this event a memorable, must attend, each and every year.
