Golf Snowshoe WVAnyone who has ever visited the Snowshoe Mountain area of West Virginia, already knows of the beautiful landscape and the area’s wonderful culture. On June 12, 2015, the Snowshoe Foundation is proud to present the 13th Annual Charity Golf Tournament at Snowshoe WV. The event is scheduled to be held “rain or shine” at the Raven Golf Course, located at 10 Snowshoe Drive, Snowshoe WV.

Raven Golf Course is one of the area’s longest and most challenging golf facilities. The 18-hole course measures 7,045 yards from the back tees with a 72 par rating. The course was designed by PGA legend Gary Player and opened to the public in 1993. With a 142 slope and a course rating of 75.5 on Bent grass, Raven represents one of the best golf courses in the state.

The fun is scheduled to begin at 8:00 am EST with a welcome breakfast. The actual tournament is set to begin at 9:30 am EST with a traditional shot-gun start. The tournament will be played in a scramble format with teams required to use at least two drives from each player on each side of the course. The tournament will be governed by USGA Rules and all rounds must be completed with score cards submitted by 5:00 pm EST in order to qualify for awards.

During the day, 50/50 raffle tickets will be sold on the course for exciting prizes to be distributed during the raffle drawing at the clubhouse reception to be held prior to the awards ceremony. The awards ceremony is scheduled to begin at 5:30 pm EST. After enjoying tasty food and fun entertainment, prizes will be distributed in the following categories:

  • Best Scores – 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams
  • Longest Drive – Hole #5
  • Closet to the Hole – holes #3 & #12
  • Longest Putt – hole #18

Following the awards ceremony, there will be a live auction and a chance to pick up wonderful items that have been donated by local merchants. The proceeds will all go to the Snowshoe Foundation, which uses its donations to support the communities of Pocahontas, Randolph and Webster Counties in the Snowshoe WV area.

Registration and entry fees are due prior to the day of this exciting event. Registered players are requested to report to the cart area for cart assignments by no later than 9:15 am EST.
