Berming Man Banked Slalom in Snowshoe WV

Snowshoe WVSnowshoe wv is one of the most popular winter sports destinations in the eastern United States. Snowshoe mountain has many events throughout the year to draw extreme sports enthusiasts to the area. One such event, the Berming Man Banked Slalom, was so popular in 2017 that it’s being brought back for 2018. The Berming Man Slalom, sponsored by Oakley, was a success in it’s first run so Snowshoe Mountain decided to offer the event to more snowboarding enthusiasts for the 2018 winter season. This event is designed especially for the snowboarding community as a derby style run on a banked slalom course.

This slalom course was set up to allow snowboarders to have a great ride while showing off their creativity. The course includes multiple bumped and steeped berm sections that will provide plenty of opportunities for tricks and stunts. Riders will have the chance to exhibit their control and sense of adventure on this course. The source consists of a gated section along with “The Boneyard” which provides an excellent place to show off your creativity and unique style.

Berming manThe Berming Man Banked Slalom is being held on February 24th. Friday the 23rd, 2018 will consist of an evening registration event from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at the Connection Nightclub. Those who are interested can also register online through this website. Online registration ends Thursday, February 22nd at 10:00 PM Eastern Standard Time. The event has categories for women, men, and youth 15 and under. Participation fee is $20.

Other Berming Man Event Details

Each rider gets two runs on the course with the best score of the two counting towards the final. Prizes will be awarded based on the fastest time. Winners in each category will leave with a custom made medal that was designed by Josh Gronitz, a well-known Oakley eye-wear model. Those who tame the slalom and win their division can also go home with the title “Fastest Snowboarder in West Virginia.”

Whether you’re a snowboarder or spectator, be sure to come out to Snowshoe WV for this exciting event. All ages are welcome and the entire event will be family friendly. Practice will begin at 9:30 AM on Saturday with the competition starting at noon. Awards will be given out at 5:00 PM at the Old Spruce Tavern.
