The 3rd Annual Homegrown Music & Arts Festival is taking place in Snowshoe WV over the 4th of July holiday. The Arts & Music Festival is all about the celebration of the music, arts and culture of Appalachia and about the state of West Virginia. The crowd gets to enjoy all kinds of talent with associated and remarkable vendors and bands. Various popular groups will be performing.
Festivities will begin Friday July 4th at 11:00 AM. West Virginia Music Hall of Fame Traveling Museum is located on top of Ballhooter slope and will be featuring the rich history of West Virginia music through artifacts, historical photographs and infinite documents. Features will take place between 11:00 AM-2:00 PM. Crafters in the Village will be active through 8:00 PM. Homegrown Cookouts are located in the Village Plaza and will begin around noon.
Individuals that are interested in participating in Home Grown Village Games are asked to sign up in front of the stage 15 minutes prior to the events. Hot Dog eating competition begins at 12:30 PM. Musical entertainment features located in Village Plaza will be featuring Black Mountain Bluegrass Boys from 2.00: PM and
The Carpenter Ants will perform from 4:30 PM. More features of rich history of West Virginia through artifacts, historical photographs and documents located on top of Ballhooter slope will take place from 6:00 till close. The famous Hillbilly Banger competition will take place at 7:00 PM. At 8:45 PM the Mountain- Marsh mellow Roast which is adjacent to the Mountain Adventure Center welcomes the crowd.
Saturday July 5th festivities begin from 11:00 AM-9:30 PM. The Pocahontas County Artisans Summer Art Show will be held throughout the day in Tygart Room of Allegheny Springs Conference Center. Flying Higher will be delivering an enjoyable and educational experience through the power of birds of prey. All sorts of competitions will be held throughout the day and mountaintop fireworks at 9:30 PM. Sunday July 6th festivities will begin from 8:00 AM-noon.
Snowshoe West Virginia is an independent community in Pocahontas County. It is situated in the Allegheny Mountains. Snowshoe has several commercial areas, the area is best known for winter activities, mountain biking trails, a popular golf course, wedding convention areas, and famous summer outdoor activities. Snowshoe is site of the second highest point in the state.
