Opening Day (DELAYED)

OPERATIONAL UPDATE (NOV 22): With our snowmakers going strong and the Cheat Mountain Magic in full effect, the mountain is starting to look the part! However, this shot of cold and snow will not be enough to get us up and running by our targeted opening date of Wednesday, Nov. 27th. We’ll continue to work on building our base over the next few days and closely monitor the weather next week. There is still optimism for some holiday weekend skiing here at the ‘Shoe, but it is too early to make a decision at this point. Check back with us early next week for an updated projection for Opening Day.

In the meantime, rest assured that our mountain operations team is aggressively taking advantage of every minute of snowmaking opportunity. Right now we’re seeing somewhat marginal temperatures and high humidity with this storm which isn’t ideal for snowmaking but our team isn’t picky and they’re going to crank out as much snow as possible for us.
