WOOD BURNING FIREPLACE - 2BR/2BA condo (St. Moritz floorplan) with plenty of space to relax. This ski in/out unit has a double balcony that faces the high speed Ballhooter Lift and slopes. Large eat-in kitchen seats 6 and is fully equipped. Wi-Fi.

Property Details

Enlarged condo with two bedrooms and two full bathrooms. There are large windows to enjoy the view of the beautiful slopes and mountain terrain from the kitchen and living areas. This is one of the only 6 "St. Moritz" units in the building with a wood burning fireplace. This unit is beautifully remodeled and has 230 square feet more than the other 2BR units in this building. The kitchen is well-stocked with dinnerware, utensils, pots and pans, coffee maker, oven, microwave, refrigerator, toaster, blender, etc. so you can prepare your own meals. The kitchen table seats six. The building’s free wi-fi is accessible in this unit. The master bedroom has a queen bed, ceiling fan, 25” cable TV, and a DVD player. The master bedroom also has its own private full bath. The 2nd bedroom has a queen bed, ceiling fan, 19” cable TV, and a VHS player. There is a 2nd full bathroom off of the hallway. The sofa in the living room has a pull out bed, 27” TV, and DVD player along with a large DVD library. This unit has a built-in ski rack and a double balcony. Coin operated laundry facilities are located by the elevators.

ABOUT THE AREA - Snowshoe Mountain, West Virginia is the premier ski resort in the Mid-Atlantic region with a whopping elevation of 4,848 feet.  Typically, Snowshoe receives an average of 180 inches of natural snowfall each year.   Snowshoe features 57 trails within 3 different ski areas: The Basin, The Western Territory and Silver Creek with 100% snowmaking capabilities in each area.   The Western Territory boasts expert only terrain with a 1,500 foot vertical drop and the longest trail on the mountain, 1.5 miles.  Silver Creek is popular for its night skiing, terrain park features and the Coca-Cola tubing park.  A free shuttle service is provided to get you from one area to another.  If you are not a skier or rider, there are still plenty of wintertime activities for the whole family.  Snowshoe Mountain offers RZR and Snowmobile tours, as well as Snow-Cat tours where you can learn more about the art of grooming.  Plus, there are a variety of shops and restaurants in the village and around the mountain.  If you are looking for some relaxation and pampering, you may want to visit the Spa at Snowshoe. In the summertime, Snowshoe continues its vibrancy with festivals, such as Blues, Brews and BBQFire on the Mountain Chili Cook-Off, The Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) off-road ATV and motorcycle racing series, FreeFall Festival and other various wine and jazz events.  If you are one for lots of activity, Snowshoe offers rugged Segway tours, hiking, downhill mountain biking (you can even put your bike on the lift and get a ride to the top), kayaking, canoeing, fishing at Shavers Lake and golf at the Raven Golf Course.  Motorcyclists flock to the mountain to enjoy all of the curvy mountainous and scenic roads in the area.  If you are looking to hop aboard a historic steam train, Cass Railroad is the place to go.  The station is just 10 miles away.  For a longer day trip, head to Seneca Rocks for some amazing rock climbing and cliff views.  More details on Snowshoe’s winter and summer events and activities can be found on their website, it is definitely worth a visit!

Cancellations made greater than 30 days prior to check-in will receive 100% refund less cancellation fee ($50). There are NO REFUNDS for cancellations made within 30 days of check-in. If you are concerned about possibly having to cancel your trip, we highly suggest that you consider our travel insurance! If purchased, you can be fully refunded in the event that you have to cancel due to a qualifying event (i.e. illness, lack of snow, etc.)

This condo was clean and as described and ideally placed on the mountain. Being so close to the ski lift makes it a great ski in - ski out location. Beautiful view of the slopes and mountain terrain.

Great location right on top of mountain next to the central Snowshoe area. Short walk to everything from the local convenience store to the rental location. Parking is right at the unit with check-in being a breeze. The unit itself has plenty of room, however is a bit dated and could use updating to be on par of the other accommodations on top of the mountain. Heat worked great and had everything you could ask for.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and couldn't have picked a better place to rendezvous with our friends. Our host Chris kept up communication with us prior to arrival to ensure that we knew how to get to the destination. The condo was very clean and had everything we needed. Chris also offered up places to eat and ways to get great deals on lift tickets, rentals, and lessons.

My siblings and I (4 adults) loved staying in this condo! It was easy to book last-minute, there was no hassle with check-in or parking, and Chris's e-mails with details on the property and the area were very helpful. We loved the view, the condo was well-maintained and comfortable, and it was easy for us to reach the slopes - just one floor down and a short walk down the hall. Plenty of room for our snowboarding gear in the condo entryway. The kitchen had all the equipment we needed. No hot tub ($20 per person per day across the street), but I knew that when I made the reservation. I would definitely stay here again!

  1. This condo was a good find. We checked in on December 31, 2017 and stayed until January 4, 2018. The location could not be better. We had a great view of the Upper Hootananny slope (green) as well as the surrounding area. You literally start skiing five steps from the building door. This is very helpful after a day of skiing, when you are tired and cold and when you have kids with you. The village is right there too – the restaurants, shops and Expedition station (gear rental and lift tickets). Chris provided a lot of useful information to help us find the building. We were able to find good parking spot not too far from the entrance. Check-in was very speedy. I loved racks for ski gear in the hallway – very handy.

    The condo has two comfortable bedrooms with a bathroom in each. Towels, soap and toilet paper provided. Housekeeping checked on us everyday, but we opted out. Kitchen is adequate. I had to get creative making a casserole one night as there is no casserole dish of any kind, but you will find pots, pans, cookie sheets, utensils, cups and plates. There is a coffee machine with filters. The dishwasher detergent is provided, but I brought my own dish washing liquid and sponge for the sink. In the past, while staying at other Airbnb properties, I would find random condiments and supplies from previous visitors. This is not the case here. Bring your salt if you need it.

    The place was clean, however there was an unpleasant smell when we first entered. I’m usually the only one with the sensitive nose, but this time the entire family noticed it. I used some of the cleaning supplies under the sink to eliminate the odor. It seemed to get better after while.

    The TV’s are ancient, but we enjoyed the owners’ collection of DVD’s and VCR’s 🙂 I was excited about the fireplace, but making a fire was a HUGE challenge. The wood is provided by the lodge in the hallway right next to the condo. However, the logs are enormous for the size of the fireplace and there was zero kindling.

    Another challenge was the thermostat (all of them). They appeared to have the mind of their own. Both my husband and I tried to figure out their various moods, but it was constantly too hot or too cold. The temperature on display didn’t seem to reflect the actual temperature in the room.

    Despite these minors negatives, we had a good time and would stay here again.
