Snowshoe WV EV Charging Stations

Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Stations at Snowshoe

Snowshoe Mountain offers six (6) vehicle charging stations at no cost to guests. There are two (2) stations located at Top of the World, 2 at Silver Creek, and 2 across from the village. If you are unfamiliar with Snowshoe please see this map. These charging stations aid in Snowshoe’s continuing effort to keep the resort and the surrounding area “Forever Wild.” Most of the stations are manufactured by Siemens Model VG-2. You can see them on Amazon where viewers have asked tons of questions about the model. Below you can see pictures of each charging station to confirm whether or not they would be compatible with your EV.

NOTE: There are an additional two (2) stations available for Blackbear Crossing guests which can be paid for using the Blink app. Details are below.

Top of The World

The stations are located in a small parkin area located directly across the street from the main, large, parking lot at Top of the World and Soaring Eagle Lodge. See pictures below:

Silver Creek

There are two charging stations located at Silver Creek. The best way to access them is to turn left (into the camping parking lot) which is about 100 yards before the parking lot guard shack. The charges are located in the middle of that parking lot.

The Village

The last set of EV Charging Stations is located across the street from Seneca and The Village. This station also has two (2) of the Siemens VG-2 chargers – but I noted that there is a large, heavier-duty cable on the back of the station. You can view the pinout of it in the photo below to see if it is something you recognize:

Blackbear Crossing

As you are heading up the mountain from Silver Creek, Blackbear Crossing is located on the left before you get to Shamrock and Whistlepunk. There are two (2) new EV charging stations located next to the Blackbear Crossing community pavilion. The model number of these charging stations is Blink IQ 200 You can see a picture of the chargers below.

There is a fee to use these stations, and they are for Blackbear Crossing guests only.  If you get a Blink account, it is $0.39/kWh.  You can get an account online and either get a card in the mail, use the Blink Mobile App or use a code that will be tied to your account.  Without the account, the cost is $0.49/kWh which you can pay for it using the Blink Mobile app or a Guest Code if you have one.

The Blackbear Crossing HOA went with Blink for a number of reasons.  One of the big ones was that they were able to get into a grant program that paid for the full installation.  On top of that, Blink will maintain the units as long as we have them.  Additionally, the HOA will receive 50% of the income from the chargers.  Finally, we didn’t want people to sit on the chargers for days on end like they do in the village.  The only way to do this was to have a paid option that charges an occupancy fee if you don’t move your car after fully charging.
