Snowshoe Mountain Resort
in Snowshoe WV is hosting the Homegrown Music Festival, March 4th and 5th. The venue includes many musical guests and fun filled activities for the entire family.
The fun starts Friday night. Come down to Connection Night Club at 5 pm to receive your free cardboard box and decorating supplies to make the fastest sled for the cardboard box sled competition on Saturday. If you are interested in hearing some live music, stick around to hear Derek Thrasher, Justin Young, A.J. McIntyre, Mark Bryant, Matt “Manchild” Marshall, and Cody “Stixxx” Hutchings of the Jawga Boyz.
Saturday’s fun starts early at 11 am with the cornhole competition. Do you have what it takes to be the best? If food competition is more your thing, sign up for the pepperoni eating contest which starts at 12:30. It’s sure to be hot ans spicy! The game of horseshoes is fun and exciting but have you tried Toilet Seat Horseshoe? It’s a 1:15 start. What’s the best way to get all that pepperoni taste out of your mouth? With pig’s feet of course. Bobbin for pig’s feet start at 2 pm. It’s time to breakout those beautifully decorated cardboard box sleds and soar to the win! This main event of the festival begins at 3 pm sharp. Come cheer for the winners at the award ceremony for “on snow (slope) games and Happy Hour games at 5 pm.
The musical entertainment starts at 3:30 pm with the Thorny Mountain Boys in the Connection Night Club. The Connection Night Club keeps the music coming with live performances from the Rust Kings at 6 pm and Shawn Owen at 8 pm.
